After 23 years, this restaurant is like home to me. It’s the business that my husband and I built. It had been Jonathan’s dream since he was 16 years old. When we married, it became my dream, too. And now that he’s gone, I carry on our dream… along with some new ones of my own as well.
Jonathan Byrd’s is my home away from home. And I want everyone who walks in to feel as if they are coming to my house for a visit. We have long-time customers… customers who eat here daily… and customers who came as kids and now bring their kids—and they’re all like extended family to me. Part of my dream today is to bring our new slogan to life: Food, Family, Fun! That’s what Jonathan Byrd’s is all about… a good meal, at a value that allows people to feed their entire family, and in an atmosphere where they can relax, laugh and enjoy the people around them.
I think there’s something about food and meals that brings people together. In the Bible, there was always a meal throughout the Old and New Testaments where people would open their homes, break bread and share fellowship with one another. In a sense, that’s what we offer at Jonathan Byrd’s—the opportunity to share a meal with family and friends in a place that is as welcoming as someone’s home.
We take great pleasure in serving our customers good food. We have something for everyone—no matter what you’re hungry for, or whatever dietary restrictions you have. If you want food like grandma used to make, we got comfort food that always satisfies… for those watching what they’re eating, we have soup and salad… and for those who don’t know what they want, we have a lot of different options so there’s plenty to choose from every day of the week. If you’re a kid (big or small!), don’t be surprised if I remind you to eat your veggies. After all, when you come into my house, I want to make sure you eat right so we can enjoy your company for many visits to come!
